Essiac Tea, or E-Tea, is a blend of four herbs used to bolster the immune system for those suffering from cancer. It benefits other conditions as well.

In 1922, a nurse named Rene Caisse was working in an Ontario, Canada hospital when she met an elderly patient with a badly scarred breast. The woman explained that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer 30 years earlier. Breast surgery had been recommended to her, but she had declined it. Instead, she accepted treatment from a Native American friend, and Ojibwa medicine man, who gave her the herbal tea recipe and showed her how to make it. According to the woman, she drank the tea every day as her tumors shrank and then disappeared. She told Nurse Caisse that she had been cancer free ever since. (more…)
