Follow The Basic Rules
Everybody, at one time or another, dreams of owning a set of shining, white teeth. And not many people really relish the thought of making a trip to a dentist’s office. The first can be accomplished, and the second saved as long as they follow some basic rules.
- In spite of its appearing new, toothbrushes should be changed every 90 days. Something else about toothbrushes. It is best to pick one that comfortably fits in the mouth. Those with medium length, nylon bristles are the most suitable.
- Toothpaste should not contain any abrasive materials because they start to damage enamel with regular use. Sweeteners aren’t recommended. Special whitening products last more than 15 days and don’t have to be used every morning. Rather than producing whiteness, their function is to get rid of accumulated tiny particles.
- Floss every night. This will prevent cavities from occurring between teeth. It is absolutely necessary for individuals with closely placed teeth.
- Do your gums bleed a lot? Make sure that you visit your dentist! Paradonthosys can be fixed or helped, but only in the beginning. You can prevent the problem by cleaning your teeth everyday with a solution of either medicine or lemon in soda.
- If you have pain when you drink cold water, you will want to see the dentist as soon as possible. The pain might be coming from your gums. In some cases, the gums get stripped to the base of the teeth due to incorrect brushing technique.
- Especially good for teeth are whole-grain breads, vegetables and hard fruits. Emphasis should be mostly on apples, carrots and celery.
- Cigarettes are one of the main causes of dental plaque. Some substances in nicotine cause a growth of bacteria existing in the oral cavity.
- For promoting tooth decay, the worst food to ingest is sugar. Nonetheless, it is not damaging to ingest sweets every day, even in big quantities. It can become a problem if you eat them all day long, even if not every day.
- Kids can benefit from fluoride. It will prevent cavities and strengthen the enamel.
